CBMM’s anti-bribery management system is certified by an international anti-corruption standard

January, 2024
—The mining company CBMM, a world leader in the production and marketing of Niobium products, has just obtained ISO 37001 Certification.

ISO 37001, a standard from the International Organization for Standardization, granted in Brazil by Inmetro, specifies requirements for anti-bribery management systems. The processes and controls implemented by CBMM according to the ISO standard are built into the Company’s integrated management system, strengthening good practices in governance and ethics in business.

According to CBMM’s legal, ESG, and institutional relations director, Renata Ferrari, the ISO 37001 Certification demonstrates the importance the Company places on the topic. “This achievement is the materialization of the evolution of CBMM’s management system and Compliance Program, and it proves our commitment to the pillars of integrity and sustainability in business,” she explains.

Analyses and diagnostics of CBMM’s internal processes were carried out to obtain the certification, and adjustments were made to meet the requirements of ISO 37001 for the [then-]endorsement of the QMS Certification - Brazil. “With the support and engagement of all employees, it was possible to demonstrate the maturity of our controls and the culture that guides CBMM’s Anti-Bribery Management System,” adds Karina Figueiredo, CBMM’s Compliance Manager.

With the certification, CBMM joins a select group of companies that focus on controlling and mitigating risks related to corruption and bribery in their operations. In Brazil, only 204 companies have ISO 37001, and 5,969 worldwide, according to data from the ISO Survey (https://www.iso.org/the-iso-survey.html), updated in 2022.
